The Healthy Boy Band is a cooking and art collective that was founded by the three Austrian chefs Lukas Mraz, Philip Rachinger, and Felix Schellhorn. The Healthy Boy Band always moves in the creative conflict zone between fine dining and “trash food,” classic gastronomy and performance art.
In 2020, the collective founded their magazine The Healthy Times, which is published twice a year. The main aim of the publication is to pay tribute to the rich diversity of cooking and gastronomy. The second edition is 564 pages thick and crammed with curious material from the fine-dining world.
The graphic design is based on 90s trash paired with straight forward two-column book design. The typeface Elaphus (early version) used in the body text is a soft and organic counterpart to the bold and hard-used ABC Monument Grotesk. The paper is rough, open and very high in volume—an intense experience, in every sense.
The Healthy Times is available from Verlag für moderne Kunst (VfmK).
