Grubenmann Project is a contemporary analysis by the IBOIS laboratory and students at École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), led by Yves Weinand.
Even after almost 300 years, the constructions of the Grubenmann family of master builders from Teufen AR impress today’s architects, engineers and construction experts alike. Yves Weinand, professor at the EPFL and head of the Institute for Timber Construction (IBOIS), is taking this as an opportunity to examine, draw, digitally record and reinterpret the roof trusses of the Grubenmann churches with his students.
