Das Who Is Who In LU is a poster campaign for the Wilhelm-Hack-Museum designed and implemented by the design agency Kontext Kommunikation. Initially, a version of the poster was displayed throughout the city of Ludwigshafen am Rhein (license plate: LU) in Germany that said “Das Who Is Who In LU”, without any further information. This caught the attention of onlookers who got curious about the context and purpose of this statement. After some time, a second version of the poster was displayed that listed a series of world-renowned artists from Max Beckmann and Jackson Pollock to Pablo Picasso and Joseph Beuys. This version also revealed that this was a campaign to bring attention to the reopening of the rehabilitated Wilhelm-Hack-Museum.
The initial poster design was set with Generation Mono. The second version uses Farmacia to list the artists’ names. Both typefaces are designed by Nguyen Gobber.
