Jurriaan Willem Schrofer (The Hague, 1926 – Amsterdam, 1990) was a Dutch graphic designer, typographer, bookbinding designer, teacher, and a board member of the Dutch federation of artist’s associations.
While Schrofer may be most famous for his designs with meticulously crafted complex modular patterns, his portfolio consists of numerous ‘regular’ designs for (non-) fiction book covers, diaries and calendars, guides, movie posters and product brochures.
This book cover for a compilation of conversations with poets places the list of interviewed authors – set in all caps Folio – on a meandering black ribbon.
