Memories of the Bull Ring calypso song from the TV! Anyone who’s got that on film please post a link!

Also brought back memories of going in that church at lunchtime on a sketching day while I was an art student at a nearby college. While the minister welcomed one and all, shoppers and homeless people, and invited them to please sit, relax and feel free to eat their lunch while he spoke, I quietly got my sketchbook out.

It was not long before a Dolores Umbridge-type church woman came bustling up and ordered me to leave. She considered my sketching – in silence, while listening – totally unacceptable and disrespectful. I was painfully shy and had only just left convent school – you’d have struggled to find anyone less threatening. Didn’t stay. If anyone tried that with me now, it’d be… different.
