After two issues exploring light in a free and poetic manner, we pivoted slightly and decided to look at it through a specific lens. The idea of serendipity remains: in our case, developing the magazine’s content in a rather unplanned fashion and allowing chance finds.
The graphic design has evolved too: It now fully leaves space for the photographs to express their potential and enable a certain visual narrative. The articles and interviews feature Neue Haas Unica for the text and Traulha in order to emphasize the titles. Essays are displayed with white bold Unica font on a black background. The whole design is thought to create a dialogue between the different articles.
This is the third issue of The Light Observer magazine: The water issue.
