To increase awareness of bowel cancer symptoms in people under the age of 50, the British charity Bowel Cancer UK enlisted UK design office Taxi Studio for their Never Too Young project.
Taxi Studio in turn hired Tom Lane to design a typeface for the project. Named Sophia after the founder of Bowel Cancer UK, the late Sophia Sangchi, the typeface mimics the twisty shape of the human colon.
