Volume MTL: Art and the Book is Montreal’s annual celebration of art publishing and artists’ book. The visuals developed for Volume 3 were first conceived for the website. Imagined as a book layout, the homepage evokes a full flat cover with its title on the front, the spine, and the back. The glyphs V and 3, used as a logotype for the event, adorn the cover as an abstract background.
The typeface Sprat reminds the sharpness of the number 3, while the softness of Sinkin Sans matches with the curves of the V.
