ArtCenter 2019–2020 Viewbook

For ArtCenter’s Graduate Studies 2019–2020 Viewbook, designer Brad Bartlett used Centra Mono as the catalogue’s primary typeface and Centra No. 2 for headings.

The concept for the viewbooks draws on the individuality of each ArtCenter student’s experiences. All 6,000 books have a unique cover that was generated using an algorithm that draws from a set of 18 modules. Since monospaced typefaces lend themselves to making perfectly structured compositions in the manner of early computer text art, Centra Mono can be neatly layered and mixed with a variety of colors, geometric shapes, and patterns.
