The position of months moves as you flip the pages, creating an analogy to the passage of time. On the cover, January and December occupy the same position as on the inside. The graphic element of a spiral creates a connection between both.
I assume the change to proportionally spaced numerals for “13” is because it’s considered an unlucky number, yes? A typographic expression of triskaidekaphobia?
