Majorcan design studio Hastalastantas designed this book with the autobiography of Tumi Bestard, an strange character with a picturesque life who was consul of the USA in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. Published by Ediciones Sa Portassa in January 2020.
Schotis Text is the only typeface used in the book.
My husband and I met Tumi in 1972 when we moved to Mallorca from Stuttgart, Germany. My husband retired from the USAF at that time. We built a home in Mallorca and my husband, William B. Gemmill, USAF, Retired, often met the Sixth Fleet when they arrived at Palma. We enjoyed very much knowing Tumi and were inducted in to the Fray Junipero Serra Society. It was an honor and one I remember fondly. My husband passed on June 20, 2011. He and I often spoke about the wonderful time we spent in that beautiful island. A memory always cherished. I hope Tumi is well and happy.
