Tangui in use for Ballermann, the second album by German Krautrock band Grobschnitt released in 1974 on Brain Records.
The typeface by Colombian designer Gustavo Pardo Sarmiento was selected as a winner in Letraset’s International Typeface Competition 1973. The results were also presented in the 18 New Type Faces catalog.
Tangui is applied with an isometric perspective for the band name. Some of the lines were joined (g, r, b, s, h, n, t) and the parallel section of c was eliminated.
No designer is credited for the cover design. Photography by Marcel Fugère.
