Koloss in all caps, with EndcapS and a diamond-shaped middle dot for the cover of Bolan’s Zip Gun. Released in February 1975 in the UK only, the tenth studio album by English glam rock band T. Rex failed to chart.

Kosh designed four LP covers for T.Rex, of which this was the final one. He also designed the quad poster and other assets for the Apple Film about T.Rex, Born to Boogie, and a poster featuring Bolan for the UK’s Health Education Authority.

It’s always a really dark version of this. Does anyone know what it is supposed to be? Is it a metal submarine wall that has been opened? It looks a bit like a food tin. And we have those bullets or nails. I used to think it was an open belt.
It is a Zip Gun. A home-made firearm. Gangsters would make them. The back of the album features a photo of James Cagney and Humphrey Bogart from the 1938 gangster movie Angels with Dirty Faces. Equivalent of putting a photo from a of a late 1980s movie on the back of an album now, Angels with Dirty Faces being released 37 years before 1975.
