Far out indeed: A chromatic use of Michel Jarland’s Astral – featuring a purple sky – for instrumental Celtic folk rock. This single is the only release credited to French group Les Korrigans, and was issued in Philips’ Série Parade in 1974. The track names are in lowercase Churchward Galaxy, which was Mecanorma’s name for Churchward Design. It is designs like this where decorative display fonts like Astral can really shine. In applications where illustration or photography is too expensive, in terms of time or money (or both), they can eliminate the need for imagery.

This one goes out to Bic who wrote that “happy little clouds in letters is all I need today.”
