Create With Air Max

Create with Air Max reimagines the customization process with AR, allowing fans to design the latest shoe models and see their creation come to life. In the air, in real time. The content experience comes inside an AR-enabled zine that celebrates Air Max inspired creativity – including stories, styles and designs from local creators – and features the iconic shoe turned into a blank canvas, for users to color their next pair in their own way.

The new Nike Air Max 2090 launched when fans had to stay at home due to the lockdown. An alternative way was needed to express the spirit of Air Max and bring people together in the absence of events.

Throughout the printed zine, readers discover Air Max inspired creativity, plus black-and-white illustrations. They scan the blank shoes with a smartphone to generate a floating AR model. As the shoe is coloured in on the page, the 3D model changes to reflect the creation. Once finished an animation of the design can be shared to social channels.

Neue Haas Grotesk is used for all Latin-type typography. Noto Sans is used for Japanese text.
