Alright, I’ll admit it: Benguiat Gothic is one of my guilty pleasures. German discounter Lidl uses the Bold Oblique of this weird 1980s Art Deco family for various bakery products, including Rivercote’s wheat crispbread and zwieback. Interestingly, the same combination – white-on-color Benguiat Gothic plus brown-on-yellow Impact in a red and white bordered cartouche – is used for another of their private labels, Grafschafter. The brand is in the type (and the colors), not in the name.
