This poster was designed by Herbert Matter for a polio poster competition organized at MoMA by curator Mildred Constantine. The poster promotes the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis, now known as the March of Dimes.
With its all caps Franklin, primary colors, type on an angle, outlined type, type in a box, and generous negative space, the design has a lot in common with many later compositions by conceptual artist Lawrence Weiner.
