Tenth studio album by The Supremes, released by Motown in 1967.
The flare serif caps used for the title appear to be from Argonaut by Headliners, or a precursor thereof. The word “sing” between the two lines is custom lettering. Akzidenz-Grotesk, or Standard, as it was known in the US, is used for setting the titles of the two number-one hit singles “You Keep Me Hangin’ On” and “Love Is Here and Now You’re Gone”.
The back cover surprises with very different typographic choices. Here, the title is presented in all-lowercase Twentieth Century Ultrabold Extended, a style that was unique to Lanston Monotype’s copy of Futura, with slashes in place of the middle dots seen on the front cover. The track list is in Bank Gothic, Scott Regen’s liner notes in Memphis, all printed in reverse.
