At Plantain we craft bespoke memoirs and company history books.
When Jennifer approached us to work on her husband’s story, the challenge lay in translating Franklyn’s passion for life into print. If you are ever to hear him speak, you’ll understand the zeal with which he expresses himself: dialogue regularly interspersed with fist thumping, clapping, pounding, and a whole host of exclamations…
We thus employed a few stylistic devices to convey his exuberance — both through text, as well as through some rather unique design choices:
1. A selection of interesting colours: a rich green (Frankie’s favourite colour) and the rather hot rubine red(!) to get across his energy.
2. Fonts we felt best represent him: a balanced Palatino accentuated by the playful Betta.
