The Malee Scholarship is a mentorship program with Sharp Type and grants $6,000 USD annually to one young woman of color between the ages of 16 and 29. It includes an optional four-week mentorship program with Sharp Type staff, who will provide professional guidance toward the production of the recipient’s typeface. The mission of The Malee Scholarship is to provide financial assistance and mentorship to support and empower women of color as they pursue their interest in type design.
The website was developed by What The studio and the typefaces Malee Serif and Malee Sans were designed by My-Lan Thuong.
