Awwwards Web Design Conference Tokyo 2020

The Awwwards Web Design Conference, described as an event to “unite the best agencies and thought leaders in the world of digital design,” will be held in Asia for the first time in 2020, in Tokyo.

Ryohei Kamada and Arisa Miyasaka of Tokyo-based agency Shiftbrain designed the conference website, with responsive illustrations by Nao Enomoto. Cortado is used for headlines, with Aperçu and Termina for more extended text. The Awwwards logo and the names of the main menu items are complemented by Japanese kanji / katakana, using a yet unidentified typeface. Shiftbrain explains the thinking for the site design:

Its contents are about Japanese culture, anime and manga, and we tried applying a world view that conveys the characteristics of Japan with an underlying tone of red.
