Markt der Kontinente is an annual event in the Dahlem Museums in Berlin, a complex that comprises the Ethnological Museum, the Museum of European Cultures, and the Museum of Asian Art

The international Christmas market lets you travel the world in eight days – each of the four Advent weekends is dedicated to a different continent. Not only can you combine gift shopping with a visit to a museum, there are also concerts and dance performances.

Central in the design are JAF Facit Extrabold’s tightly spaced small caps, staged in bright colors by Charlotte Driessen.

  1. Never really paid attention to the heavy weights of Facit. Love it.

  2. I think this is the first time I’ve seen it in print use. This is great. Really underrated typeface.

  3. Client, designer, and foundry – all based in the same city. I wonder if this new localism is a trend in today’s seemingly global design world.
