An eight-chapter course in home interior design from Sears, sold in a 3-ring binder. Copyright date inside reads 1/72.
On the cover, the title is repeated eight times, in white on colored stripes, and in a diverse range of letter styles. Four of them are typographic: Burko (1), Broadway (3), Plymouth (5), and Amelia (7). The others, three scripts and one uncial, haven’t been identified yet. Judging from the differences between repeating letters, some or all of them are probably lettered, and not based on a typeface.
The interior pages combine Joe Taylor’s Blippo Black (1969) for headlines with Hermann Zapf’s Optima (1958) for text. The chapter titles on the tabs are set in Optima Bold.
