Abramesque in use on the front and back cover of The Best of Vol 1 & 2 (UK, 1975), a compilation of soft soul and doo-wop songs by The Platters from the 1950s and early 1960s.
Designed before 1850, this eccentric offspring of Caslon Rounded disappeared from view, resurfacing in the 1970s along with many forgotten gems from the 19th century. Digital revivals of Abramesque include Henry II / III / IV (The Pyte Foundry); Commercial Type will release a digital revival under its original name Caslon Rounded Shaded Ornamented at their Commercial Classics label.
