02point2 magazine, No.6, spring 2018
02point2 is an annual and free contemporary art magazine, which accompanies the magazine 02. 20,000 copies are distributed to over 200 art venues in France and other European countries. Designed by GeneralPublic in Paris for Zoo Galerie.
JAF Lapture is used throughout the issue for main texts and headings. Univers Bold is used for captions. The title on the cover is a specific lettering based on Univers Ultra Compressed.
At the occasion of the 6th issue, we reinterpreted the design created in 2002 by highlighting its most recognizable characteristics. This dense magazine, with its irregular text-image balance, meant finding a functional and vivid solution. We chose to give a great rigor to the sequence of theoretical texts and interviews, but to overcome this rigor by the arbitrary introduction of images that disturb the grid, to float above the texts. In the Portfolio section, maximum exposure is given to artists’ works and exhibition views with full-frame photos for immersion. — GeneralPublic
