More or less simultaneous with the Put it to the People march, brexiteers held their protest march walking from the North of England to the nation’s capital. The branding and identity for this nationalist movement brings together many international elements in a slightly confusing manner. The Leave Means Leave organisation chose to campaign through a website with a .eu domain (although they want to leave the European Union), there’s Gilets Jaunes (but they’re blue), the prefab signs are sized and designed in the style of US campaign signs (three lines of all caps and centre-aligned reversed type on a single color background) …and is that really the all-American vernacular Gotham, ‘the Obama Font’ doing most of the typographic work?
