The frames for the featured items in this supermarket ad are quite unusual. It’s possible that they are a set of metal border elements, but they don’t appear in ATF’s, Linotype’s, or Ludlow’s catalogs, who were the main suppliers for American newspapers at the time. They could also be custom engravings.
