Carl Langerfeldt’s shop for textile goods was established in 1872. In 2017, after 145 years in business, it closed for good. The raised Art Nouveau caps on the facade in the city center of Braunschweig are modeled after Eckmann. I don’t know how old they are, but I tend to think this is a historicist sign added only in recent decades.
More architectural Eckmann caps: This piece of lettering for the Alsterhaus in Hamburg takes some liberties with the original, and follows the more conventional forms for T and H that were included in the typeface as alternates.
