Tensão & Conflito – Arte em vídeo após 2008 (Tension & Conflict – Art in video after 2008) was an exhibition at the Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology (MAAT) from Lisbon, that brought together works by 22 artists from United States to Latin America and from Europe to Middle East, which present personal and unexpected visions of the consequences of latest global financial crisis. This book adds essays and reflections on how conflict and instability are often at the core of cultural creation – and how, from such impulses, artists have used the broadly shared language of moving images to further their political and aesthetics positions.
The book, designed by João Bicker, is exclusively set in Usual from headlines to captions.
