I employed the versatile and clean Avenir Next family for my rendering of the Sorry! Star Wars Millennium Falcon game board. Getting to type “deflector shield” in a typeface I love was a great professional joy. I believe Frutiger himself called the original Avenir as his favorite work, and I call this game board mine. The “Sorry!” logo is in Advertisers Gothic. With its horizontal strokes in S and R, it almost looks like an — admittedly goofy — relative of the Star Wars logo designed by Suzy Rice.
