Identity and stationery for London-based architecture practice Tsuruta Architects. Founded by Japanese architect Taro Tsuruta, the practice is known for its lightness of touch and focus on materials more than any house style, and often uses basic materials and techniques yet executes them in an elegant and minimal manner. A monospaced typeface is used for the identity because its technical, informational character reflects the architect’s approach and the minimalism of his Japanese heritage, yet doesn’t constrain the practice to a particular style. It also references the type used on the xCNC pieces visible in many of the architect’s buildings.
