This book with “true tales of shark attacks in man — facts more terrifying than the fiction of JAWS” apes Novel Gothic’s use on the Pan edition of Peter Benchley’s novel released the year before.
The Shark Attack edition by Everest Books (pictured below) even goes to the trouble of modifying the ‘H’ and the ‘K’ as had the original book with the ‘J’ and ‘W’. In fact, the only letterforms that match Novel Gothic are the ‘S’ and the ‘A’, suggesting that this knock-off is lettering solely based on the JAWS cover, without the involvement of type.
