On October 15th, 2014, Base Design celebrated its 20th anniversary by hosting an original art performance titled “Ready to Read” at the Museum of Modern Art. The performance showcased the high/low dichotomy that defines Base’s work: where culture bumps into pop culture.

For their identity, Base uses the typeface Basetica, originally designed in 2013 for Open Switzerland, a conceptual design project born from the merger of GVA Studio with the international network Base to create BaseGVA in Geneva, Switzerland.
