D’Andre Jones, who heads Compassion Fayetteville's Black Lives Matter team, said the banner was also hung last year, but has noticed much more by passerby and on social media this year. He said a public statement about the value of black lives and black history is particularly important now, given the current political climate in America. “Now more than ever,” Jones said, “it’s very important that we all stand together and affirm that all lives matter.”
