The premier issue of Israel Magazine — The Israel Independent Monthly was designed in 1967 by Ben Bos at Total Design, using Fred Lambert’s Compacta. Letraset’s first original typeface design was released in 1963. Outline weights were added in 1965.

The general cover design with stacked Compacta/Compacta Outline was continued at least until 1971: Vol. II No. 2, 1969 (left), Vol. III No. 4, 1971 (right). It is unknown whether Bos was still responsible for these issues.
