Mondo, in collaboration with Walt Disney Records, presents the Inside Out 7-Inch single series at San Diego Comic-Con 2016:
Each record features Michael Giacchino’s theme from Disney·Pixar’s Inside Out, “Bundle Of Joy,” and a exclusive B-Side. The theme is an absolute earworm; capturing the whimsy of childhood is no small task, but Giacchino is able to craft a score that is emotionally resonant (no pun intended). Each record also features incredibly fun artwork by Phantom City Creative inspired by classic album covers.

In case you wondered about the original record covers that served as inspiration for the parodies, there is Isaac Hayes’ Joy (Joy), Joni Mitchell’s Blue (Sadness), Black Flag’s Damaged (Anger), David Bowie’s Hunky Dory (Fear), Courtney Love’s Live Through This (Disgust), and Smashing Pumpkins’ Siamese Dream (Riley & Meg).
Big applause, Florian. Here’s that last one:
Thanks, Stephen! To be fair: While Pumpkins and Black Flag were no-brainers and the Bowie cover came up here before, I found the other ones because they were mentioned in Mondo’s Instagram posts. The homages do a pretty good job at emulating the type. The Isaac Hayes cover uses Pistilli Roman — ITC Bodoni is in the same ballpark, but less flamboyant.
