The Dortmunder Kunstverein (Dortmund Art Society) acts as a stage for contemporary art and cultural events. It provides the frame for exhibitions, lectures, discussions, artist talks, studio visits and excursions. The diverse events are advertised with bold, partly demanding pictures which are confronted with a strong and robust logo, also appearing as a stage or a frame for all communication related material of the Dortmunder Kunstverein.
The typography, using system fonts only, is succinct yet unobtrusive. The layout and text orientation form an important stylistic and aesthetic element. Restrained colors ensure enough room for all exhibition media.

What were the reasons for the restriction to system fonts?
Which font is used for the logo?
Sometimes I understand Vignelli, who said that you only need a few fonts to make a good design. I loved finding this old post.
