The first logo using the “Headline News” name. Designed by John Christopher Burns in 1988. Introduced on air sometime between 1989–92.
Originally launched as CNN2 on January 1, 1982, this American basic cable network was renamed Headline News the following year. The grid HN logo was introduced in 1989 and this wordmark accompanied it sometime before 1992 when it was slanted. It was later accompanied by the CNN logo from 1997–2001. In 2008 the name was officially changed to HLN. [Wikipedia]
