This Doggie Diner was originally the site of a Dog n Suds, a classic drive-in diner from the 1950s. The sign is fairly new, using the mid-century script Gillies Gothic to hearken back to that golden age of carhop culture. The Illinois-based Doggie Diners were established in 1986 and appear to be unrelated to the famous California chain of the same name that was active 1948–86.
