Ever since 1966, a year even before colour television swamped German households, a grand jury in the country awards a gold plated camera to actors, musicians and entertainers.
For the design of the 50th anniversary edition of “The Golden Camera”, the task was to depict the ‘stress field’ between two centuries without it feeling dated. The modern typeface GT Walsheim provided the basis of this. Two type styles are being used prominently on all printed materials. A look back is cast to the beginnings of the Golden Camera with the type “Fünfzig” (meaning ‘fifty’ in German), set in Ballpoint Script.
