Hans Reichardt is a German type historian and archivist who is probably best known for the extensive list of international typeface designers that he maintains for the Klingspor-Museum Offenbach. For the information that we include on the typeface pages here on Fonts In Use — think design credits or release dates — we often rely on the data that Hans Reichardt has compiled and kindly shared. Danke, Herr Reichardt!

The header on his personal website uses LTR Bodoni Bleifrei, a typeface made by Letterror (Erik van Blokland and Just van Rossum) in 1992, bridging analogue and digital type technologies. It was digitized from scans both of actual lead type sorts (Bauer Bodoni) and the page printed from it at a letterpress workshop at HfBK Hamburg. The set consists of three fonts — Imprint, Leaded and Slug — which can be layered for chromatic effect. Bleifrei is German for unleaded.
