Not only did Christopher Burke write this excellent book on Tschichold, he designed it, prepared the illustrations, did the layout and typeset it in his own FF Celeste typefaces.

That’s not all — the cover, title, and chapter heading pages were done with his digital version of JT’s drawings for a “quick and easy method of lettering”.

Pretty impressive!

  1. Tschichold’s alphabet drawings shown in the second image were made into a typeface for the title and headings in the book. In 2008, Sebastian Nagel released his own retail version of the design as Iwan Reschniev.
