Issued as wood type by Wm. H. Page in 1870, Celtic
is “basically a Belgian with open rectilinear ornaments at the
median”. [Kelly 1969] Celtic No. 1 has a wraparound contour and
top/bottom spurs. In Celtic No. 2, the ornaments are solid. Celtic
Ornamented has contouring shadow lines only along the stems.
Also available in a chromatic version, patented March 15, 1870.
