Uploader is a project that uses the podcast as a tool to make known the stories of young people who know how to be an inspiration for other local children: projects, personal paths, ambitions, hardships and dreams that come true.

An underground graphic, as the project wants to be, that is a story of out-of-the-ordinary stories, difficult stories of people often “labeled” by society.

Studio Work worked with start-up business Toast Photography to develop a rich identity and a memorable brand personality. The owner, Emma, is bubbly and approachable and makes photography fun. To represent Emma’s unique traits, we combined visual elements with engaging language that all played on the word ‘toast.’

Copal is used for logo and tagline; Boogie School Sans is used for headlines and business card information; all other small text uses a combination of Work Sans and Optima.

Charles Booker is running for Senate to defend our democracy and defeat Mitch McConnell once and for all. He’s depending on grassroots supporters like you to power this movement.

In support of Booker’s campaign for the 2020 U.S. Senate race in Kentucky, local artist Robert Beatty made this beaming portrait that was posted by comedian and actor John Early to his social media accounts. The 3-dimensional letterforms are from Copal, an all-caps typeface (with narrower glyphs in the lowercase) designed by David Lemon. “Stand for Kentucky” is in tried and tested Cooper Black.

“Entre Pierre & Terre” (“between stone and earth”) is a series of four limited edition ciders for Loïc Chanut, a passionate producer with French roots dedicated to small batch, simple, quality products. Each product has their name typeset in a different typeface to reflect their own character – Copal for Cidre Bouché, Chap for Bulles Rosées, ITC Goudy Sans Italic for Vin Poiré, ITC Stepp for Bulles Houblonnées. The rest is typeset in Untitled Sans, with additional handwritten notes.

Slug Club is a radio show, music night, and label in southeast London, with regular shows on Netil Radio. (See also the Netil Radio home and website at Fonts In Use.) To celebrate a year of collaboration with illustrator Sacha Beeley, they produced a t-shirt with proceeds of sales going to Crisis, a UK charity for the homeless.

The design uses Copal – an underappreciated typeface in my opinion. Each line on the shirt utilizes Copal’s wide uppercase variants for EndcapS, bookending the narrow letters in-between.

Copal was designed by David Lemon who is coincidentally known for having cool shirts and whose birthday happens to be today. Happy birthday David!
