Frankfurter Medium is the only style of the Frankfurter series to include a lowercase. Designed by Alan Meeks and issued by Letraset in 1978, as an extension to Frankfurter (Bob Newman, 1970).

The original version had an alternate ‘a’. ITC’s digitization exclusively has the two-story form, the others exclusively the single-story one. The only one to include both is Castcrafts’s OPTI Frankfurter Medium. URW’s digitization was named Freyja.
