ITC Pioneer

One of the first ITC releases in 1970. Not to be confused with Gonzales Pioneer (PLINC, 1969). Adopted for Letraset’s Letragraphica range and also by Mecanorma in 1972, [Graphis] both times with alternates.

ITC’s digitization comes in three variants; Pro (extended language support), Std, and No2 (largely identical with Std). Pioneer BT (Bitstream, 1990–1993) is spaced much more loosely . So is Pioneer No. 2 (Elsner+Flake), which additionally has heavier lines and bigger counters. The only version to include the original extending alternates is New Pioneer Bounce (Alan Prescott, 1995).
