Shown in Photo-Lettering’s Art Nouveau Xenotypes 1895–1905 (1962) as Xenotype 3488, and in One Line (1971) both as Staudel Xenotype N (3488) and Ringling Brothers (4465). The latter appears to be a revision with slightly larger gaps.
Variants include Staudel Weinerschnitzel A (solid w/ contour, 4626) and B (outlined, 3592). Designer unknown. Staudel Xenotype K is a related style with flat tops and bottoms, derived from lettering by J.M. Bergling.
