This compilation album with twenty hits by artists such as Jerry Butler, Little Anthony & The Imperials, Ray Sharpe, Marvin & Johnny, The Dubs, and The Innocents was released around 1962 by Mark-FI Records in Hollywood, California.

The cover was printed in two colors, pink and black, with the title shown in Jim Crow. The big “20” at the top left is lettering based on this octagonal open and shaded sans with stripe fill. “Twenty hit oldies” is in Figaro and “by the stars who made them famous!!!!!!!!” in Filmotype Windsor. The side headings are in another Filmotype release, the wide railroad slab Western. The names of songs and artists are set in Consort, using mostly the condensed width.

The Lonesome Valley Singers were a Canadian country and western band from Victoria, British Columbia. In 1965, Diplomat Records released an album with a Vietnam War theme.

The cover typography brings together three typefaces from the Filmotype library, including two originals, all used in all caps. Vermont is an open and shaded variant of Wagner. The top halves of the letters in “WAR SONGS” were manually filled in red, creating an effect that resembles chromatic wood type. Windsor is a bold condensed gothic with tiny serifs. The song names are set in Futura Display, which was carried by Filmotype as “FD”.

Men in the Green Berets is a 1969 album released by Diplomat Records. It features songs sung by the Lonesome Valley Singers, all of which are themed around the Green Berets (an American army force).

The album features three Filmotype faces, all of which are very similar to each other one way or another: “Men in the Green Berets: The Ballad of the Green Berets” is set in Garnet. It’s accompanied with Evans and, for the name of the band, Windsor. A condensed style of Alternate Gothic (or Trade Gothic) is used for the track list.

Two Filmotype originals, paired for Big Band Dance Party, an LP released by Grand Award Records (G.A. 33-331) around 1957. Windsor is similar to the gothic Ginger, but with added tiny serifs. Hindu is the widest variant of a series of upright informal script with stroke width contrast. Both faces were added to Filmotype’s library in 1955.

The cover has to accommodate a lot of information. In addition to the title and an illustration (by Arthur Shilstone), it also includes the label branding (“Grand Award” in Caslon 540 Italic with roman caps) to the left and right, the track list, and a promotional blurb with credits (in Alternate Gothic with some Futura Condensed):

Second album by saxophonist King Curtis (1934–1971), released by New Jazz Records (a sublabel of Prestige since 1958) in 1960.

The cover photography is by Esmond Edwards (1927–2007). The typography combines Filmotype Windsor (narrow) and Wave (wide), a pair of faces with tiny serifs much like Copperplate Gothic, but with horizontal stroke endings.
