A light Benguiat Caslon 3 was shown in
Photo-Lettering, Inc.’s Alphabet Thesaurus Vol. 2
(1965), followed by the bold Benguiat Caslon 9 with
Swash 9 and Cond 9 in the ’67
Yearbook, and an Ultrabold in the ’69
Yearbook. The original bold was often modified with a
variety
of swashes that were used liberally throughout the 1970s.
Offered by some phototype shops as Arriola
Caslon [New Lettergraphics Styles 1969] or
New Caslon.
Two digital interpretations of the bold are available: the
