Ed Benguiat’s first typeface design. Drawn after his teacher at the Workshop School of Advertising Art, John Schaedler [must be Emil Schaedler, not John N. Schaedler], had shown a script typeface [possibly Schaedler Glamor] in class. Published by Photo-Lettering and named after his wife Norma. [TDC Type Legends interview, Type Over Time interview] Shown in Alphabet Thesaurus Vol. 2 (1965) in two variants; Norma and Normalock. The latter adds a different set of capitals and non-ligning numerals.
